50 % Concession is alowed to children between age 6-11. For this you need to make an ID on IRCTC and log in there. For booking ticket, you need either an ATM cum Debit /Credit card or an online account.
Rest is given there on the sight.

First step is to visit the website www.irctc.com and get yourself registered with a name and password.
Next you will receive a confirmation that you have been registered.
After that you need to log in and go ahead with whatever railway ticket booking you require for you, your family members or relatives or friends and acquaintances. You need to pay through credit cards and the ticket is normally delivered to one's residence by courier in couple of days time. Also you can book ticket from anywhere to anywhere in India.
