Hockey is our national game on paper . Practically our national gane is cricket and popularly it is football. Its all about money GC. and the quality of Hockey and its management in India has reached dismal depths. It would need a change of mind set and removing all the bureaucrats who continue to cling onto posts in the Hockey federation. Persons who have never played at the highest level-what would they know about improving quality-except enjoying trips with their family when the team plays abroad. The players are put up in sub-standard accomodations even as these officials enjoy 5 star hospitality.
Yes its our national game and to improve it one needs to understand the lacunae and have the foresight to improve it.
