The legal system doesn't work. Or more accurately, it doesn't work for anyone except those with the most resources. Not because the system is corrupt. I don't think our legal system (at the federal level, at least) is at all corrupt. I mean simply because the costs of our legal system are so astonishingly high that justice can practically never be done.--Lawrence Lessig--What about our legal system?

Same status. Poor people cannot before to fight cases in the courts. Have to give up and accept defeat even when they are right.

In the second most populous country like India, without present Judicial system being refurbished to suit the need of the citizens, the present system can hardly deliver. The cases that are hear in higher courts can be broadly categorized in the following

1. Business vs Business
2. Business Vs Public Departments
3, Individual vs Business
4. Individual Vs Public Departments
5. Individual Vs Individual

The worst sufferers in the present system are the cases where Individuals are involved. The Layers/advocates get the as easy meat. The advocates cannot put their own terms so boldly to business. In case of public departments, the lawyers take it easy because they know Public Departments are not as good pay master as the corporates. But, by flaunting the Government pleader tags, the advocates can rope in more individual clients.

My main point is, where individuals are concerned, the systems should be revamped to give speedy disposal through any legal device. I am not so m ...more
