Baiju Bawra (1952) and Mughal-E-Azam (1960) and the epic Mother India (1957).

In 62 years in the film industry, he composed music for 66 films. These days, you come across people who have done the music 200 films in two years. What I\'m saying is that, he used to agonise over every tune and phrase in music, spend sleepless nights over a song, and work on it until it was perfected. He was a perfectionist.

He said \"We must change with the changing times, but should not lose connection with the roots.\"
