As answered very truly depends on the script which has the capability to hold the audience continuosly for three hours.Good examples like water, fire,Black etc are already mentioned. To my mind it is better to watch such movies rather than trash full of vulgar dance and songs

Depends on the script. There are many films made in India which don\'t have song or dance sequence for e.g Water, Fire (by Mira Nair), Black, A wednesday...Recently i saw one movie named \"Khamosh khauf ki rat\", without songs & i liked it very much. Songs and dance are the beauty of Indian films though, makes them unique worldwide.

It can. See Pushpak with Kamala Hassan as hero, totally silent movie and a masterpiece. Not a single dialogue and yet it keeps you magnetically stuck

Yes it the script is good enough to attract the audience to the story rather than the song and dance which are sometimes not at all required
