Record for the Best Bowling Figures in One Day International Cricket :- Sri Lanka's spin wizard Muthiah Muralitharan claimed 7/30 against India at Sharjah on October 27, 2000. Sri Lanka won the match by 68 runs. These figures are the best in one-day cricket and usurp Aaqib Javed's 7/37 also against India at Sharjah in 1991/92. This also included a hat trick of LBW's the only such instance in a one day match. At the age of 19 years and 81 days Aaqib was also the youngest bowler to take a hat trick.Even Waqur Younis as a Pakistani captain has achieved the figure of 7/31 against England on June 17,2001.
Record for a Hat-Trick on Two Occassions in One Day International Cricket :- Wasim Akram and Saqlain Mushtaq of Pakistan are the only bowlers to have taken a hat trick on two occasions in ODIs.
