FPR or Film Type patterned retarder is a modern marvel which has solved many 3D TV issues. This technology has provided a good reason for people to buy and experience 3D TV. LG 3D tVs support this feature.

Modern features like IPS and FPR have helped the overall development of 3D TVs. FPR technology is compatible with lighter and cheaper polarised glasses which makes it one of a kind. Apart from this feature, FPR also offers a host of other advantages.

Film-type Patterned Retarder is a technology promoted by LG for their 3D televisions It shows left and right images through different patterns in a circular polarizer. Left/right polarized glasses allow the left and right images to then be seen by the left and right eyes separately. Both images are combined in the brain and generate the 3D effect. The FPR technology uses the precise film which can distinguish the left and right images to show a different image for each eye.

The reason for its increasing popularity is its performance. FPR has changed the way people percieved 3D TV. No flickers and a better 3D picture is what it promises.
