Hi, I wanted to give a canceled cheque for proof of opening an account. How do i cancel the cheque? If i put a cross over the cheque leaf the guy can still write some amount on the cheque and use it as an account payee only cheque, right? How can i make a canceled cheque?

Put 2 big lines - cross it and write: 'Cheque given to open D-mat Account.'

Do not put any figure & Do not sign the cheque.

Put Two crossed line on the cheque & write "CANCELLED" between it.

Cancleed cheque mean you have to write cancelled on cheque in big font size in mid of the cheque. you write this type no one can write there name or ammount on cheque that both line can filled by cancelled.
