Yessssssss.... as a child I
loved catching the raindrops in my little hands,
loved the smell of earth after the first showers,
loved jumping over the little puddles of water...laughing with glee when it splashed on friends around me
loved the way mom wud yell at me for getting wet and lovingly dry my hair
loved the way everything looked clean after a spell of rain...It was as if the Gods were on cleaning duty
loved the magic of the rainbows...the splash of colours across the horizon
loved the way they seemed to cry when i was sad
loved the way they also seemed to wash my tears away
as i grew older, loved sharing a small umbrella with the love of my life ...more

To enjoy rain, one need good livable house where there will be no leaking or logging. Dr. Fix It may have done that wonder for my building but the roads are not that. These are corporation maintained. So the floor level has to be five feet highier than the road level in order to be sure that rainwater will not invade my house and then enjoy rain for some time. If my kid\'s school bus is stranded some where in the waterlogged roads, feel my condition. It is on a tourist spot or holidays that rain can be enjoyed without anxiety.

Life changes so much, from the environs of the serene interiors of the county to the concrete jungles of the metros that rains even if they are most welcome under the circumstances leave us untouched to enjoy the sheer beauty of it the way one could have done.

Takes me back to the golden years ... the first rains ... the rich smell of the earth permeating every sense of our being bringing it with an aroma that is pure at its core .... the tickety tack sound of the rain drops hitting the roof ... dropping right into the middle of the house made possible by an unique architectural style that is extinct now ... giving it an eerie feeling ..... come dawn .... the very our water ponds are once again brimming with water .... the fields are flooded .... the thrill of making an improvised boat and setting out on a thrilling ride .... with the constant echo of mother\'s voice lingering in the background with shouts of warning not to venture out to any dare devilry .... there was a sense of ...more

The beauty of the first showers...the emotions which shine through...they soften my heart and make me nostalgic about some happier moments when life was coloured in the hues of a rainbow:

The pitter-patter of raindrops against the window pane...

is music to my ears and I think of love again....

as I walk out to receive the spray against my face...

I am reminded again of those happy and golden days...

I enjoy rain when it is time to go to sleep. It sounds like a lullaby and before I say \'rain\' I am dead to the world.
