I would say yes and no. of course 60% of mauritius population is hindu and rest of them are franco mauritians, muslims, nirgros, chinees. especialy hindus are more attached to their culture and traditions. they are more follower then any indians. at the same time they are not closed to indian culture. but they know the importance of their traditions. they celebrate all the important festivals as we do in india. i would say they are more beautiful then indians. hindus in mauritius, .....they love indians and care about them. you would feel the be proud to be an indian when you would go to mauritius. they listen hindi music from old and new movies. but Bhojpuri most of the time. they would come and talk to you in hindhi. try to visit villages in the mountains. then you would know the differences. it is one of the beautiful country in the world. mauritius is the heaven in middle of no where.
