I'm just copy-pasting my answer to another question regarding Bermuda triangle. I'm apalled by the misconceptions people have about Bermuda triangle!
1. There is NO mystery to be resolved since it is just a rumour spread like wildfire and people make money by writing books and making movies about it.
2. NO one knows more about risks than the insurance company. As per wikipedia, Lloyds doesn't charge extra for shipping through the Bermuda Triangles. This means there is no extra risk than the other parts in the world.
3. The USA navy declared there is nothing wrong as most people would love to imagine.

4. This govt. website keeps track of all the aviation accidents and you'll find plenty of airplanes dissappearing without a cause. Bermuda Triangle is NOT a special case. Its just popular thats all!

5. Please practice skepticism and don't blindly trust rumours.
