People forget because of stress or fatigue.

When you get home after a long days work, you kick your shoes under the sofa. You lie down to rest for a few minutes before starting dinner preparations. The next morning, you look for your shoes in the closet or on the shoe rack but they are not there. You forget they are under the sofa.

People forget because they have too many things to do.

This happens a lot in my family. I serve my stir-fried noodle dish, but the cabbage is still on the table, chopped and raw. It is because I am cooking noodles with fish for my father because he is allergic to chicken or thinking how many cups of rice I will cook or what to feed the cats since some of them dont like noodles.
