Don't you think that our non violent nature and penchant to trust others did us lot of damage in the past when outsiders came and invaded us but the same non violent nature had helped us to gain the freedom?

It is not the non-violent nature or penchant to trust others that left the borders of this country be subjected to violatoin by every powerful ruler from outside. It is our infighting and our inability to trust each other that left us helpless and powerless to take on the invaders. At every juncture of history if we are to go back, we will find this repeatedly happening from the earliest invasions from Central Asia. We were a dividded country, ruled by not just dozens but hundreds of petty rulers who could never understand or fathom the greater threat that was emanating from the outside and which in the long run would overwhelm them and put an end to many a dynasty of the time. They fought each other, they schemed each other, made alliances with outsiders, then fought with them only to see a emerging powerful outside force subjugate and defeat them once they could make an inroad into the border regions of the then India as it existed. We may be cheated millions of times but can not leave our basic Idea of non Violence,Coexistance & acceptance................If there be any Human that exists in India, was in India & will remain in India..............
