Q.

We've all heard d saying, Don't judge a book by its cover! Unfortunately, we do, it's not nice but we do it anyways. People judge by appearance because it's d easiest thing to judge by. Since we rely more on sight than any other sense, we tend to judge by this sense themost strongly.
I think that appearance matters to some extent but it is not all. There are many more parameters that can judge a person. It may be that a person's appearance is not that good but his heart may be good.
Why do humans judge people by their appearance? Please don't answer, it's the human nat

It is true that some times we have to take a hasty decision and more often than not we tend to go wrong. When you go to a book store, you do not buy the book just by looking at the cover, you flip through some pages too. Same thing we must do while dealing with people too. Just flip through the pages of their life to see what the person is really made off. May be our judgment we make at that time will not be wrong and we won't have to regret. Always listen to that feeble voice of conscience. It is always telling you what is right and what is wrong.

Wat i feel is that judgement is something which require a lot of things in detail pertaining to any issue...i cant rule out the fact that at times one is not incorrect to get attracted by the physical appearances only at d outset of its first interaction....but when the question of one's individuality arises, thats certainly sud be judged by other much more valuable charactristics of any human being...truely only after having a clear view one can judge abt a person...even after writing so many words to look my version justified, i too admit that appearances has a big say upon one's impression towards one's individuality unless being thwarted by any disastrous element of a person is exposed...

The physical apperance of a person is the first thing that we notice about him/her. More often than not we do not get to know of the other qualities of a person, unless we interact with him/her for quite some time. Most of the time our meeting with the person is quite short and in that short time the inner good qualities of the person do not come to our notice, hence we just form an opinion about that person on the basis of physical looks.
It has also been said ' First dress, then address.'
We are often forced to change our opinion about a person, whom we meet for the first time after he/she speaks out something.

Physical appearance or the combination of facial features that constitute a persons individuality is a significant factor in determining how the person is perceived in human society.

Physical appearance is often regarded as a measure for judging attractiveness and sensual appeal or other feelings of either positivity or negativity and also for individuals to decide their self worth. Physical appearance is an amalgamation of special features or qualities that confer superiority, distinction, merit, perfection, virtue and beauty to a person. Physical appearance has taken a new stand in this regard and is an important criterion for deciding the direction of a persons life and worth. Physical appearance can determine the attractiveness of a person and is dependant of an individuals perception of the physical traits of an individual human person or a group, race, or type of people. This judgment of attractiveness is based on physical appearance as a whole or individual feature and distin ...more

It is said that the first impression makes the best impression. That's the reason why packaging a product is considered very critical for its sale. That's the reason why the latest notification about what should be depicted in the cigarette boxes.

It is always the human tendency to form an immediate opinion about others from their outwardly appearance - the way they dress, the way they react to others, their mannerisms etc.

Having said that, if one were to keenly observe an avid book reader, he would, may be have a cursory glance of the cover, but quickly rummage through the book, see about the author, the review posted by respected critics, the actual contents of the book, and may be some pharas from the book before deciding whether to by or not by. This lot never gets distracted by any type of tempting packages.

Similarly, you come across people, who are very fair, balanced and take time to appreciate others and don't judge to form an opinion about him until after he gets ...more

Yes u r right , that appearance matters to some extent but it is not all.the cover/appearance is still going to have an impact on peoples. That's why you dress up before going to business events, because you might be the best at what you do, but if you don't look the part, people start to immediately doubt you.
