Theoretically for everybody but practically only for those who actively and responsibly participate and are attached to it with necessary strings..ones loss is anothers gain and smarter ones collect most strings to the government, and obviously much for their gains; in laid back and passive societies it is but natural for aristocracies to get resurrected, while in overtly active ones mobocracy dissolves the very concept of governing, it is the tussle of interests that defines the government and a commoner is not so commonly ignorable term for a government to survive, the art of those running the governance very much lies in the fiction of how long can they fool one against the other, government can very comfortably switch allegiance once their interest shifts from big business houses and will be seen swearing to serve the commoners as and when/if the pressure mounts, so a commoner always has enough leverage and together their strength is massive compared to few business houses..

Government is to the country as a mother is in a family of many children. Just because one of the child has grown up does not mean the mother will not care for that child of hers. Just because mother cares for the grown up does not mean she does not care the younger child who is weak and dependent. So whether a person is a business man or Common man government belongs to both. In case of Common man his needs from the government will be different from the needs of the business man fro the government. While Common man may require his basic provisions at subsidized rate a business man may require tax advantage or infra structure for doing his business. So Government provides t the business man those thing and not a ration card. Where as it provides ration card to the common man and not incentives for doing business. It would be stupid for the common man to criticize the government for setting up infra structure and incentive for business and it will be also stupid on the part of the busi ...more
