Oh LOVELY.. Gorgeous film.
Why Meryl Streep alone? Clint Eastwood was equally super. EVERY INDIAN SHOULD SEE IT.
It is based on a true story I believe . When you do see it you'll realize why in reality most marriages are unhappy .. and the problem lies with the men becuase they do not understand what is lacking in their behaviour that makes their wives unhappy .
In the film Meryl Streep's character was shown to be a dutiful housewife, very faithful and an excellent mother , which most women are. But her husband took her for granted, considered her to be a part of the furniture, which of course she accepted. But there remained a lacuna in her life and when Clint Eastwood arrived on the scene somehow the dam of emotions burst out. Streep's acting was mature but restrained and her face silently spoke volumes.
I found it very moving, a true love story and the scenario was most unexpected .. not a pair of silly twittering college girls like you see in most Hindi films.
