Congress has appeased the Muslim community of special reservation before the U.P. elections. BJP is conceived to be opposing the minority community. The one party that has some support of Muslims is Samajwadi party headed by Mulayam Singh. In order to garner more of this vote bank, I think, it is the S.P. who are inducing the Muslims to raise their protests against Salman Rushdie, who is coming to India on a literary mission. The UPA government will not stop him from entering India and by the way Rushdie has said that he is an Indian and he does not need a visa to enter his birth country.
