The Brahmaputra is known as the Yarlung Tsangpo River at its origin.
China is trying to divert the waters of Yarlong Tsangpo to feed its dry northern regions. This may affect the flow of water into india.

It is a river in Tibet. China has plans to construct a big hydroelectric dam across the river and also divert water from the river to other parts of China. The project is fered to cause adverse impacts on downstream peole in India and Bangla Desh.
