Yes, it would be the same.
I mean, let's not insult the man here please, he was a good guy at heart, and when he was away from the clutches of politics he did interact with a villager as if he was his best friend or something. HE was hands on.
But couldn't control senior bureaucrats, politicians and all the regional baggage that came with it. THat landed him in a LOT of trouble like the Bofor's. And whoever thinks Rajeev Gandhi did it for himself lol no. He could've done that in a neutral country like Switzerland, had he desired, I mean for crying out he was the PM of India.
Contractor->bureaucrat->politician->regional baggage- got the better of him eventually.
His foreign policy?????? Hmmmmm........
...more

I really feel that its a collective effort or a team effort to take the country from one phase to another..single handidly no one can do much...people like mr. rajiv gandhi do exist in current politics too who have a great vision and mission for the country but much yet needs to be done indeed...
