Even with all the statistics, one cannot genralise.
On any given day, the past is forgotten and the better player wins.
Nadal and Federer have shown amazing consistency, in their playing.
So, hats off to both of them.

Agreed Nadal is mentally tougher than Federer and this gives him a big edge. His 8-2 record against Federer in Grand slam matches also proves it and he plays very intelligently against Federer. But Federer still has the game to beat him. 17 Grand slam titles for Federer and 11 for Nadal. Federer has won all the 4 different Gland slam titles prove that he is not an ordinary player so I will never right him off completely even when playing against Nadal.

You can't say that. Nadal plays well on clay courts. Federer plays much better on grass courts. When Nadal was at his peak of form, he did beat Federer, but when Nadal's form has come down a bit, Federer continues to shine on the grass court. As on date, Federer plays better than Nadal on grass court.
