Lonar where there is a crater made natural lake, Ganpatipule for its famous Ganesha temple & lovely beach & Matheran for its amazing beauty are the hotspots for traveling in Maharashtra.

Go to Matheran via the Mini Hill Train. You will enjoy every bit of it. There's horseriding, where they fleece but you've got to be a good bargainer. Also good scenes for a photoshoot etc.
