Not really, but vastly. Education is one of the powerful tool to fight against dowry and female foeticide. The major cause for dowry and female foeticide is the poverty and need of money .Good education improve the economic condition and as a result it will help eradicate both these evils. I have known many families where they demand dowry for their son primarily for the marriage of their daughter. But there exist a small group of people, who are rich who seems to think getting a huge dowry for their son enhances their reputation. Such a people can not be cured with education. They need stricter law .

Not Exactly Qnaite. Education cant wipe out Dowry Completely and in the case of female Foeticide Education can help only as a limit .

We know for a fact that Dowry will never die Completely . Dowry is a symptom of a deeper disease that relates to how our society values women.n fact, it has become far more entrenched and taken new forms. the majority of dowry-related cases occur in middle class areas of our big and small cities. Inevitably, it is the girl's family, who are duty bound to maintain appearances and beg or borrow to pay for the festivities. The gifts come on top of all this expense.Customs like dowry can end only when the people involved, the young men and women, decide to ...more

Dowry is not at all linked to education. The demand for dowry originates from greed and blind belief in age old customs and practices. In fact, in modern times it is education that is responsible for increase in demand for dowry. Most of the parents want their children to be engineers or doctors. They don't care about the aptitude of their children. They somehow pay heavy capitation fees in self financing colleges and get their sons admitted to the professional course. Even send abroad for further studies. When the time for marriage come, these parent recover the heavy expense incurred in acquiring a professional degree for their son by demanding the same as dowry. So the demand for dowry as a result of education has not only gone up but the sum has also increased considerably. If the girl is also 'educated' and is in a good job then the boy's parents instead of demanding a full down payment, magnanimously agree to settle for a part down payment and balance in life long EMI. The EMI is ...more
