The former Zamindar of Estate of Kumaramangalam in Tiruchengode, Salem. Father of Dr. P. Subbarayan. Grandfather to Parvathi Krishnan, Mohan, Prabhakar and Gopal Kumaramangalam.
An elderly person whom I respect tells me that Mr.Gounder had Rajaji as his close confident. He also says that the estate ruled by Mr. Paramasiva Gounder consisted of 72 Villages or more.

His grand daughter was 3 term (all full 5 year term) lok sabha M.P.His great grandson was a central Govt. cabinet minister.His son was first the chief minister of Madras Presidency. He became a central cabinet minister of Nehru cabinet. He next became an ambassador to Indonesia. Then he was also the governor of Maharashtra.His son had a doctorate from London.
