Dravid movement goes long back till EVS RAMASWAMY NAICKER and his dravid nadu ideology. Then came anti hindi movement .Tamil cinema just projected the political ideology and captured the emotions of people.
Now politicians in the state want to remain in power so they can do anything ,even turning against their own ideology for sometime.
