Down South people are mad about Cheeranjivi or Rajanikanth, but they neglect icon Kamal Hassan. How is that?

Kamal Hassan is not into politics. He limits his activity to film world. Our media concentrates more on politics and coverage is more of people with political background rather than those who are purely from the art world. Since Cheenjivi or Rajnikanth dabble in politics they are more visible in the all India level than those who limit themselves to their main profession. Kamal has his fan following which is visible generally on event related to page 3 and does not make headlines in political space. Whereas not just Cheeranjivi or Rajnkanth there are other Kollyhood stars who have a huge fan following and it has translated into their success in political field. MGR, Jaya, NTR have become chief ministers. Karunanidhi is a famous writer of screen plays. Vijaykanth is giving a good challange in the state level to both DMK and AIDMK and normally national media remembers him during state election. Soumen: Please note southern part consists of four large states, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.Cheeranjivi is very popular only in Andhrapradesh, Rajnikant started acting in kannada films(he hails from bengaluru), but never become popular, then when he switched to Tamil he became huge hit, he is also popular in Karnataka

Kamal Hassan is not hero for masses, he is for classes ! But he is better actor than these two.
