Sachin has not yet retired from Test cricket. As soon as the annual contract system with gradation payment were introduced, Sachin started skipping matches. He played matches according to his personal plans. He hardly cared for national interest. The weaker the opposition, The better was his chances of playing and so went to play in Bangladesh against Bangladesh to get his 100th 100, And after that his bat dried up. The present English and Pakistan team brought fiery quickies to exploit Indian conditions in the winter. So, even without the present talk of his retirement, he would definitely skipped the two series.

Now, if the middle aged Sachin has to called back, why not Md Azharuddin, Kapil Dev or Laxman or Vinod Kambli. Gavaskar could also be sounded out for his availability.
If you are a Sachin admirer to the level of calling him back in one day squad my answer will certainly disappoint you. So, I also express by apology for unintended hurt.
