Not at all. It might take away the myriad of Gods on whose name people fight not realizing there is only one super power controlling this universe. The complexities and efficiency of working of machines created by this power, in comparison with man made gadgets re-enforces in a true scientist the greatness of God. He moves nearer to Him.

From what little I have known about religion, spirituality and science and how I understand the term "God", it is my belief that Modern Science infact helps us to approach the science of spirituality rather logically and rationally and so it actually takes you closer to God !

In some cases yes..countries,people fighting with each other,making nuclear bombs just to show how powerful they are(just to show their domination in their own way feeling that they are the supreme power above the almighty)..but in some cases no as well..countries coming together for global issues such as global warming,for saving the environment..it depends on mindset of people..how they want to use their knowledge..
