Ram is the name and the beej mantra is rum (a dot over the Hindi letter 'R')
Perhaps, impressed with Ram the old Muslims saints would have thought to spend month in His glory, hence the month named as such.... In many countries, Malaysia, Mauritious, Kambodia, Tamil, many people were the worshipers of RAM and they have written their own Ramayanas also.. Even Rahim has written couplets in the praise of Krishna. Who knows what the truth is behind the word.
