God neither begets nor is He begotten. There is only ONE God. Unfortunately humankind associates others as partners in His divinity which is why God send His messengers to guide humanity back to the right path.

I think the question is whether God is a myth? God has created us or have we created God. Lets take the examples of Rama and Krishna. They are called Gods in human avtars. Jesus Christ was a human being. Prophet Mohammad was a human being. Gautam Buddha was a human being. Guru Nanak was a human being. I have pretty much covered every religion and with the exception of Hinduism, the creators of other religions have been human beings. Even Rama & Krishna were humans. These are all extraordinary human beings with extraordinary qualities and hence today are regarded as Gods. As far as Hindu civilisation is a very old civilisation and with the exception of Vedas and Upanashids which are written there are lots of myths associated with Gods and how these stories evolved nobody can say anything with historical certainty

God is NOT a PERSON.
God is essentially an all pervading super creative intelligence, without name, without form, omnipotent and omnipresent, beyond time and space.
Dieties are not Gods,
Holy places are not God's residence,
And God has nothing to do in particular with RELIGION or SCRIPTURES, which are all man-made and imperfect!

God is an absolute cosmic energy and every civilization has conceived form and names of various gods as the people of that part of the world........ In fact every human being has the energy and he can attain the power to realise within himself the fact that there is none but himself who exists every where as a part of that supreme or absolute or cosmic energy and all and everything does exist within himself; as did Lord Krishna attained that power and displayed himslef in VIRAT ROOP to be Him .
