What made Ramalinga Raju commit the fraud ?

Greed. he invested satyam funds in real estate business hoping to get good returns. but due to real estate bubble bust, his dreams are shattered and he has no other option but to commit the fraud. if the maytas take over was allowed, this fraud would have never came to light.

Because in India the imprisonement for any director's negligence in accounsts is six months and penality of 10000 !That's penality of committing mistake in company being director!And when jethamalani or Jhottmalini is on your side and media showing day in and day out his son Mahesh with Ram Jethamalini saying that he has confessed so leniency be shown to him !that is give him Bail! But since the Satyam is listed in America where laws are differnet and americans know how to get back their money and compensation the best Indian Govt. do is let FBi do the investigation and let Americans be allowed to first mete out justice to,Raju and his associates as they did to ENRON directors where one director shot himself and others are langushing in jailand their prperties confiscated!But Raju says that he is ready for punishment as per the law of the land that is in India! And this has been tutored to him by his lawyers who know that a mere six months and 10000 fine is what a crime of fraud gets
