There are thousands of unsung heroes in history. Are they unfortunate for being so because of the oversight of our historians ?

Forget about the unsung and unknown heroes of our history, my friend. Even well known and the most cherished heroes like Sardar Bhagatsingh, Chandrashekhar "Azad", Pandit Ramprasad 'Bismil', Ashfaqulla Khan, Chaphekar brothers, Veer Savarkar, and several others who laid down their lives for our sake have been ignored by our rulers deliberately since independence and, regardless of our protest and petitions, will continue to do so even in future. To cite an example, when the question arises of honouring an Indian with the highest civilian honour, viz, the "BHARAT RATNA ", why is it that no one thinks of Sardar Bhagatsingh, or his equally valiant revolutionary comrades for bestowing this honour and names some sportsman for this instead ? With due respects, I am all praise for the talent and ability of this cricketer, however, the Bharat Ratna MUST go to only Bhagatsingh or, to some equally valiant hero cherished by our masses and to one else

Historians are also mostly easy going hero worshipers ,they readily dig out the stuff to eulogize heaped up materials forgetting the hidden treasures of dormant men laying beneath, mischief perpetrated by their contemporary.
