Without the Left parties, I do not think there can be any viable Third Front. It is better for the smaller parties to have pre-poll alliance with BJP or the Congress. However, if the Left parties lead an alliance and some regional parties ruling in the states join them, it can be a formidable power in the next elections. People are losing interest in the NDA and UPA and are looking for an alternative. It is for the parties to come to the rescue of the disgruntled people.

I dont think a 3rd front as such can win, but yes, some regional parties may come up to form the government with a hotch potch alliance which may be supported by Congress or BJP from outside. there may not be any victor, in strictest of meanings, in the 2014 elections, but yes congress is bound to lose heavily, as it may not be able to get the number of MPS that they got elected from AP and TN - together they account for over 80 MPs

While it is too premature to predict who will emerge victorious in 2014, as we are still two years away from that time, it is not very difficult to predict that any Third Front [the latest of so many created until now] formed just for the purpose of electoral gains will collapse under its own weight and inner and inter-party contradicitions. This sort of Front formation is not driven by any ideology but as a means to grab power.

Any third front would prove disatrous for the entire country !!
We need a strong leader and a strong party to pull us out of the mess that we are in today !!
Any weak leadership will only worsen our position - locally as well as globally !!

There should be no majority win and partysystem should abolished; there should always be a free voting on every point and no alliance ; PM should also be selected likewise,

Most of the third-front are frustrated black-mailers,who with track record of curruption now dream of becoming PM due to sure failing of Congress in next Lok=sabha and, therefore, should not be patronised at all.
