Deliberate cheating in any sports is not sportmanliness or not on good spirit of sports. I remember to have read a similar incidence about a match between India and West Indies. I do not remeber much. Walsh was balling and he just stopped without throwing the ball and stood looking at the batsman, who came forward to strike before before Walsh came before the non-striking crease. He could have got one out. But did nothing. That is sportsmanspirit. At least India and West Indies are never cheating. Randiv deserves a warning.
