Both are capable leaders who clearly proved their credentials. But at this juncture India needs a strong PM who can rule the country with an iron fist. Modi certainly has this ability more than Nitish. Hence my support will be more for Modi notwithstanding his controversial image.

Nitish kumar says that the Prime Minister will be from the largest party in NDA. And largest will be BJP. So Modi stands a better chance.

JD(U) can not even retain the next Bihar Assembly election without BJP support, and Nitish Kumar also knows that he can not dictate terms with BJP. He has realised how much vulnerable in his own state after teacher's strike and the poor state of financial affair in Bihar. He is pleading special status to Bihar inspite Bihar being mineral rich state.
Whereas Modi has won three assembly elections as One Man army, and shown substantial progress in state.
If at all anybody stand close him for PM post from NDA side other than veterans from BJP is Shivraj Singh Chauhan, CM of MP.

Why are we discussing Prime Ministerial candidates and every Tom, Dick and Harry is throwing his hat in the race. What is important is governance and if the Prime Minister, who is the captain, has a good team which cabinet minister performing their role properly, then the results would be good. Governance is a group effort and even if you have the best candidate as PM but not a good team, he/she is not going to succeed. Why are we Indians so much into hero worship and why do we give these politicians much more importance then they deserve so much so that they have creeped even into simple things like getting admissions in school, disputes not being reported to Police stations but resolved by these politicians in their arbitrary manners. It is because we have given them so much leverage that today they live of huge bungalows at Lutyens, which could be sold and crores earned and these politicians made to stay in buildings occuping less but having all the modern amenities, free electricit ...more
