In today's society, the martial art expertise are hardly required or not as much required as common sense and presence of mind. It may be good for girls in dreadful situation. But, the training for martial also gives you the mental training which is more important. A strong kick or punch could be useful in rare cases but adherence to general law and order and public decency or discipline is more important.
