Q.

Don Bradman quoted, "Sachin is a great player in the history." Everybody knows that he is very calm and sincere on field. Tendulkar has been granted the Rajiv Gandhi khel ratna, Arjuna award, Padmashri award. He is the only Indian Cricket player to get all of them. Sachin has become a Role Model for the whole of India with his extraordinary determination, humble approach to life and a unsurpassable positive attitude . He very much deserves the Bharat Ratna......Do you Agree ?

No body , even his enemy , can ever deny the greatness and contribution of Sachin in the game of cricket . That he is an asset of mother India, a fact nobody can deny . Yet however --and however Ipewrsonally feel that Gavaskar 's contribution to bring fame to the country was higher than our beloved SDachin , since Gavaskar played at a time when India used to face humiliation through defeats only . During those he came as opener and proved what was classic art of cricket duly supported by Viswanath . Devoid of all the defensive protections the modern players get , Gavas faced as the OPENING PLAYER the deadly volleys of bupmpers ,beamers , body lines balls from world's fatest bolowers like Marshall , Holding , Griffith, Andy Roberts ,and --and not the least --LILLY ,THOMPSON .
I may be permitted to cite one example -----in one of the test matches in West Indies Gavaskar fell inbjured as a very fast ball from Holding hit his head . He fell on the ground and the specytators were shouti ...more

I do agree with your point. He is humble and down to earth person. You cannot find out any person like this in this universe. As far as Bharat Ratna is concerned, yes i do agree with you he richly deserve the coveted Bharat Ratna. Moreover, dear Sumati, there are some more people also richly deserve awards other than the little genius. Milka Singh, the Flying Sikh, the Payoli Express, P.T. Usha, also in the line and there are number of athletics and hockey players etc deserve this award. do you not think so ?

NOOOOOOO ---- reason is he is not fit in the definition or qualification which suggest for getting bharat ratna------ SPORTS not included in that.... only ART,SCIENCE.AS BIRJU MAHARAJ also said right abt him.....he said he respect sachin a lot n like cricket game also......but sachin is in that field which is full with glamour n he playing for him self also......he given INDIA a pride n also give his contribution in cricket game......but also there is so many other sportsman also who faced lots of trouble than also they given pride to our country..............for one person like SACHIN there is no need to change rule n definition of bharat ratna........ sachin is allready in our heart n he is best without it..............sachin is allready BHARAT RATNA......

After brickbats, it is now bouquets for cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar from Shiv Sena. Sachin's double-hundred against South Africa in Gwalior has not only silenced his critics, but clean bowled the Shiv Sena, which had taken on the iconic batsman over his "Mumbai for all" remark. And in my view Sachin does not need anyone's recommendation to be awarded Bharat Ratna. He is already one. Too much importance for Bharat Ratna. Sachin is already one. He doesn't need the government recognition to be officially called one. That's just a formality that even if it doesn't come, Sachin won't be affected...!

Sachin is a nice human being apart from a good cricketer.

He deserves it , no doubt.

But Why Sachin only?

And why not Mahatama Gandhi, Dhayan Chand. Remember Dhayanchand has won some WCs for Indai as well.

Without doubt Sachin is one of the greatest batsmen of all time. Recently Sobers said Gavasker is the greatest batsmen. I will be pleased if Sachin gets an award.
