No there is no logic to this statement. If this was the case Adi Shankaracharya would not have died in his 30s and Vivakananda in 40s. Moreover some of the saintly people like Ramana Maharishi and Sri Ramakrishna have had a pathetic end - they suffered from cancer. So how long or how well a person lives has got nothing to do with a person's thinking or saintliness.
