For your information, my friend, let me tell you that immortal martyrs like Sardar Bhagatsingh, Ramprasad Bismil, and scores of other freedom fighters who did not subscribe to the Gandhian style of politics had pointed out long ago that if our country succeeds in winning freedom from the British according to the Gandhian method, then instead of governance, there would be appeasement, and a chaotic attitude to governance. This has been proved true. The self-styled leaders with a 'world view' plunged the entire country into the depths of confusion and despair. No wonder that today, we find ourselves besieged both from within as well as without. Our enemies range from the Naxals and the sleeper cells of islamic terroirsts who do not let any opportunity of blowing us kafirs to go waste, to the so-called fidayeens and mujahids who infiltrate from across the borders in the Indian state of J&K. Then there are those crores of Bangladeshi infiltrators successfully infiltrating into our countr ...more

Absolutely correct. Indira Gandhi arguably the greatest parliamentarian this country has ever seen was a great narrator and one of the best leaders of her generation. She was one of the most charismatic and peoples leaders of modern India. Even when her political views were out of favor, she was admired for her razor-sharp wit and quick thinking. She knew it very well how to make sensible decisions and when to take tough decisions in order to protect India and Indians. In modern India especially in this trouble time, our nation needs a leader like her. She was the lady who made us to believe that we could (India) win in any situation and in any circumstances. Only she has the courage to stand against all the odds and make tough decisions be it Bangladesh liberation war in 1972 or nuclear program in 1974. Today India needs a leader like her but unfortunately we dont have one. Yes we do have thousands of politicians but not a single leader to lead us from this difficult time.

In all situations, where the nation's security(both internal as well as external ) and peace are threatened, the political will to deal with the situation with a firm/iron hand is the need of the hour. Certain situations demand ruthless responses..Only political heads with an iron will can have the administrative acumen to take ruthless political decisions in the interest of the country..An Indira Gandhi who had the audacity, and political acumen to give orders to raid the Golden Temple to flush out the pak assisted Khalistan terrorists, giving nation's security importance over all other political gains, is what is needed now for the nation passing through a duifficult phase..Yes Rajpaksha can take credit as the man who eliminated the dreaded international terrorists called LTTE and brought peace to the island nation

We need a good leader who forms an India friendly policy and who creates a national identity aggressively. Whatever way u look at it 4 a country like India, strong leadership = people friendly single party rule. Whether u r regime is ppl friendly is the big Q....

I dunno about Mahinda Rajapaksa, bt Indhira Ji was going in the right direction and her life ended way prematurely. If her policies were implemented in say 10 yrs time, I would say there would b no Naxalism in the country today and we would b unified and strong- those Naxalites individuals would prolly b officers and soldiers supplementing our regular Army or as contended farmers.

Indhira ji's life ended way b4 her plans could bear fruition. Indhira Gandhi was the only leader who understood the only way to repair India was to have a strong GINI centric mass friendly economy and she certainly shuved a HUGE cucumber up the collective 6'0'clocks of snobby and corrupt apathetic bureaucrats, always a pleasure 4 aam aadmi.
