1.

Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.

I value intelligence and imagination equally. You really cant have one without the other. You'll find that many public intellectuals are the opposite of conformist, take Christopher Hitchens for example. So it would be painting everybody with the same brush to say that intelligent people are conformist. Intelligence is, as you have mentioned, not a one-dimensional aspect of a person. I would call creativity a type of intelligence, also, however when most people think of intelligence they think of "book-smarts" which is the ability to learn and retain lots of information.

There are many different types of intelligence, but creativity can be thought of the match to the fuel that is intelligence, turning the person into a full, flaming, interesting person.
