Yes, only if going with family.. so we can utilise time with maximum coverage of that place morever by taking guide we can avoid several problems like:-
Cheating
Language problem
Cost effectiveness
Local rules and regulation
PS:- Only authorised guides should be hired, his I-card and other documents should be properly checked.
Guide should be taken

Mostly I do visit such places, whenever I plan a shooting there. So such visits have become as frequently as my script require such locations. During the course of my maiden visit, I outsources the services of a few expert guides, so the the script doesn't get distorted. But now, I myself can guide others, as I have too become familiar with most these places, MADAM :-)

Not always. This time when we visited Tajmahal, we never hired any guide but it was wise decision to hire one while visiting Fatehpur Sikri.

Normally try to avoid because of their bergaining rate & considering how much he knows is not sure.
But when make a tour with good number of friends we take a GUIDE.
