Q.

If somehow rediff manages to equip QnA with a "polygraph lie detector" ... (let's assume this one is 100% accurate) how will it be welcomed by the members and what effect will it have on them??? :))) Will it change answers of some?

It will not make any difference to the regular members except to accuse Rediff of turning into a "Police State" ! As for the others well, the people who will be caught by the polygraph are those with no conscience anyway - they will just turn it around to a "beat the polygraph game" and make a mockery of it just as they do everything else.

No problems at all with this idea of a polygraph lie detector. I guess, lot of what goes on as bluffing will tumble out and there would be some sense of order for the Forum to continue devoid of the hazzles it has been afflicted with for a long time.

I feel it must have such a detector with a provision where-in there should be tag like 'suspect answer' 'doubtful response' or anthing better that can be thought of.

Unlikely, there will be many takers. A lot of Ids would simply disappear or shy away from showing their presence. Of course, many are virtual Ids known to none in the Forum and they can still subsist with the same thing they have been carrying on here but would have that 'special tag' attached to their answer which in the long run would make such an Id reduntant here in the Forum.

And the chances of besting the polygraph lie detector is also quite a possibility where they can beat it to their own game. Just like spy agencies which train their personnel for such an ev ...more

I would welcome such a thing with open arms. And the real identity of all the members will be revealed. I think the mere thought of rediff introducing such a lie detector is making some members squirm in their seats :) I sincerely hope the management gives this question a serious thought and introduce this lie detector soon. Amen!

Thick skinned will not bother about it as it is after all a virtual world and as far as the others are concerned why should they bother as they would be always telling the truth anyway.

More than 2 years I have been watching the changes done by the Rediff. Adopting many a methods, doing changes to uplift the standard of this forum but things have only changed from bad to worse.

We are here not to prove who is right or who is honest. The main motto is that there should be decent and good questions answered very wisely. Sorry to say that we have only limited people here who are very good at answering and they too take interest since rediff has appoint them as expert.

This has nothing to do with duplicate ids. If a person can manage many a ids, its his skill or his interest towards this forum. I would only blame rediff management for the decline of this forum. They hardly take interest. Nether they learnt anything good from Yahoo Answers. Rediif is only bent on giving people points and making the members feel that they have that amount of money and not only the points considering themselves wise enough to top the world. But the case is just reversed. I have been ac ...more
