Truth about Sheikh Muhamad ibn AbdulWahab & refutation to all false labels on him
The eighteenth century was an era of Western colonial expansionism. The entire Muslim World was groaning under the iron heels of the European colonialists. The mighty Ottoman Empire was heading towards a collapse. Muslim society suffered from superstitions, pagan practices, heretical innovations and apostatical leanings. The concept of pure and uncompromising Tawhid (monotheism) got mixed up with polytheism. Hijaz, the land of two sanctuaries of Islam, was no exception. The whole of the Arabian Peninsula was under the grip of superstitions and Jahiliya practices. Najd, the central part of the Peninsula, had also lapsed into pre-Islamic heathenism. Despite such a gloomy picture, the reformative impulse was always active and operational.

Your statement is 100 % correct , but Islam as per my knowledge believes in 124000 thousands of Prophets including Adam Moses Jesus , those who submitted to God are Muslims . according to my limited knowledge Islam allows differences in opinions regarding faith matters but disallows forming sects based on differences , these sects create not only differences but unnecessary fights amongst the believers and sap their energy in useless pursuits , but who is wahabi .. i m not aware

European Colonialists and Wahhabism:
The movement of Tawhid (pure monotheism), launched by Muhammad-ibn-'Abd-al-Wahhab, was slandered and maligned by the Europeans as well. The very term "Wahhabism" or "Wahhabiya", coined by them had malicious designs. It intended to prove that the movement was nonconformist and was out of the pale of Islam. This forgery was hatched by the English, the Turks and the Egyptians. It was unfortunate to note that for the last two centuries, all resurgent or reformist movements initiated in the Muslim World, are being branded by the Orientalists as "Wahhabi Movement", in order to discourage the revival of Islam or Islamisation of the Muslim lands. The colonial powers were afraid of any kind of Islamic revival or of Jihad movement in Muslim lands colonised by them. They connected all Islamic reformist movements with Wahhabism. Since the Sanusi Jihad Movement of North Africa (al-Maghrib) had challenged the Italian colonialists and wanted to expel them from N ...more

Wahabis are very strict muslims who want to follow religion by letter.
Muslim theologian Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab from Najd, Saudi Arabia advocated purging of Islam from outside influences from other cultures like the pre Islami Iranian in case of Shias or Hindu or Jew.
The Madarssas funded by Saudi Arabia teach this ideology of purging all other cultural elements , innovations and reinterpretations of Koran are known as Wahabi madarsas.

Yes Wahabi ideology is separate.Wahhabism is a religious movement or a branch of Islam. It was developed by an 18th century Muslim theologian (Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab) from Najd, Saudi Arabia. Abdul Al-Wahhab advocated purging Islam of what he considered to be impurities and innovations. Wahhabism is the dominant form of Islam in Saudi Arabia. It has developed considerable influence in the Muslim world in part through Saudi funding of mosques, schools and social programs. Reliance on the Quran as the only source of Islam with individual interpretation according to time and place. Therefore, Wahabis in Afghanistan believe they can grow and cultivate, and trade opium and heroine to make money and fight against the Western powers. Wahabi millionaire Osama Binladen is the major opium trader in the world and responsible for most terrorist activities in the world. Wahabi interpretation of the Quran believes Allah (SWT) is like a man with eyes, ears and hands, sitting on a throne abov ...more

Muslim is believer of God. Islam is a movement of Muslims. That way, we most all Muslim only. Live and let live is Jain fundamental. That way we all are Jains only. Feel the mistakes, seek forgiveness, you will be forgiven and accepted by Lord. That way we all are Christians only. Sarva jano sukinobavandu (let all living creatures be happy and peaceful), that way we all are Hindus only. Then what is the difference? The practice. Like declared constitution of a political party, all declare good and noble causes only. Difference is what they practically do in real time. With all best intentions, Md Nabi married 10 times, first time one with his mother age, last time one with in grand daughter age. King Solomon was born to Kind David in a illicit forbidden relationship with his general's wife. Lord Rama abandoned and sent his beloved wife Seeta to forest when she was pregnant. I would say atheist with noble mind are most beloved people for a true Godman ! This was evident when Sri Sathya ...more
