Being a resident of a suburb of Mumbai I can say that the initial rain gives great relief from thw sweltering heat. But when there are torrential rains the inadequate drainage system gives lot of problems on the roads, rail lines filled with water can halt local trains and even an umbrella or a raincoat is not enough protection as you are totally drenched. Another thing I have observed is that there are long quees of patients lined up outside dispensaries and hospitals during rainy season.
