Like every other food, herbs should also be consumed in medication. Additionally we should consult an ayurvedic practitioner or an expert trained in herbal medicinies or a nutritionist before popping herbal medication casually. You should also talk to your doctor. There are some herbs which can interact with certain forms of medication like diabetes, BP and depression.

Sai Ram. A good question and unfortunately, the answer is a no. Very toxic plants are also herbs! So, no, all herbs are not safe but a herbal medicine, properly manufactured would have been sufficiently tested and thus would be safe. However, pl. remember that individual responses to medicines varies a lot and what is acceptable to 99 percent of people may not be tolerated by you.

Life is pure Chemistry and all herbs have a chemistry; now you see the point; what is safe for body; even food is poison when organs fail;like protein is dangerous for serious kidney pateients; sugar is dangerous for diabetics; herbs which are eatable like mint are cinsidered safe for a nomal human beings; you can take alkoids, marijuana even though they are herbal but hallucinating; see the point now

Nothing is completely safe or harmfull. neither herbal nor chemical medicines can be said to be comletely safe. It all depends on the person who has prescribed these medicines to you. Does he have complete knowledge over these medicines or is he just taking you for a ride.

All herbal medicines are safe provided they are formulated, prepared and dispensed by qualified persons. A lot of violations for want of mere money have made to ask questions like this. I appreciate your question. Being an Ayurvedic practitioner, I am helpless as quacks have taken over all :-)
