Of course. India has an official national football team under the All India Football Federation (AIFF)
In FIFA 2010 World Cup qualifiers, India got eliminated in the first round.
The only time they qualified for World Cup was back in 1950. However, they did not participate because the Indian players refused to wear football boots in the field.
