Even I also thought alot how a legislation can be made to protect the Journalists.. since their job is such that they cannot have a body guard.. except for the weapon for self-defence.. since their nature of work is such that it is a high life risk profession.

But regarding conviction.. who will convict.. generally these Journalist expose the scams or crimes which has state protection.. and by killing them the flow of information is blocked to people..

What is so special about the members of the fourth estate. 20 people killed in 20 years is a fairly bad killing average. There is no point in focusing on it. These figures are nothing compared to how many farmers have committed suicide in last couple of years, how many villagers have lost their life in land dispute just within this year, How many infant girl child have been killed in this country in 6 months and such other cases. Has our media created enough ruckus about it as they have created when a journalist get slain.? Well media thinks of justice only when they are hit. Whereas they don't think or fight for justice when a farmer dies or a girl child or villagers get killed. How can media dare to talk of justice when they are so selective in their concern for justice.
