Sitting down keeps the knees in a compressed state. too much sitting over time will create chronic knee pain. then trying to exercise will make it worse until your legs strengthen. at your age you sit at desks at school all day then come home and lay/sit around to relax and do homework.. OR you play a sport or something that further aggravates it. you need to spend a lot more time doing leisurely but physical activity on your feet. the main cause for nine/ten knee pain isn't something that requires surgery and NOT REST! but something that strengthens the legs and thighs because these muscles are the SINGLE thing that takes the load off your knees so they can heal and feel better. cartilage heals, even if you're like eighty years old. the excuse that your getting old is total nonsense. once the muscles start supporting the knees to take the load off. lunges and squats would help, but most of the time people hurt their knees more trying to do these so im not going to suggest you do unles ...more
