Budget never has anything to do with common man. Once the elections are over only person who thinks of common man on a daily basis is probably the cartoonist R K Laxman as he has to present him in his cartoon You Said It. Budget is meant for the ruling party and its chamchas to praise the Finance Minister and the opposition to criticize the government. Budget is meant for the ministers in ruling party to work out how long it will take for them to recoup the money spent on the common man to buy his vote at the time of election. As more funds allocated to their department would mean the recoup will be faster. That is the reason the main partners like DMK and NCP want to get the juicy ministries. Business community and bankers would be worrying about how sensex would move. Whether they are going to book profit or loss on the purchases made by them in the last couple of months when sensex grew from 8 K level to 14K level.
