Q.

Don't you think our Govt. should encourage the 'one child norm' now? Otherwise, the 'urban poor' would multiply in numbers without money, food and water and growing disparities among the rich and the poor. In the current scenario of progress and growth, if an Army General could take over the country and run it like Lee kuan Yew did, this country would be the most front ranking nation amongst the others.

If we had someone like Lee Kuan Yew, he can be assured that he will have to deal with a Hindustani Prachanda.

Just fix the resource distribution mechanism in the country. Disburse rural & urban money proportionately, so that a few metros don't get 90%+ of our national income, leaving the rest w/a few scraps.

Also, seriously- in India, no matter how smart you are- nobody's wife deserves a private jet, that's just obnoxious.

We already looted our nation's poor people blind to the point of suicide by embracing these "neo liberal reforms" . As if that weren't enough, we now have to tell them how many kids they can produce?

We just need to bury all these meaningless neo liberal "reforms" and set our country back on track, to the way our founding fathers wanted it, and there won't be a need for 1 child norm.

NO, Our country is happy and will be happy with Democracy. Why do you want our country to follow the path of destruction like pakistan. One chile norm shd not be applied but awareness shd be created to have children as per your capacity to bring them up so that more and more competenet and healthy wealthy population increases and population fo poors and illiterate does remain controlled.
