I have practiced it earlier. Discontinued for the reasons unknown.
Surya Namaskara is a common sequence of asanas. Its origins lie in a worship of Surya, the Hindu solar deity. This sequence of movements and asanas can be practised on varying levels of awareness, ranging from that of physical exercise in various styles, to a complete sadhana which incorporates asana, pranayama, mantra and chakra meditation.

No I dont know. But everyday, I do Pray to Surya by chanting Surya Sloka which I believe U know !!!!!!!

Ehi Surya Saharshangshu tezo rashe, Jagatpate Anukampaya, mam Bhakatang Grihan Arghang Dibakaram Eedam arghang om Suryai Nama. This hymn is to be said by keeping one leg on the knee of other leg keeping stand yourself.
